He was predeceased by : his wife Jeanette Alston; his daughter Gwendolyn Capers (Donald); his parents, Peter Alston and Louise Alston Gillyard; his brothers, Alvin Alston and Wesley Alston; his parents-in-law, Julia McBride and William McBride; and his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Wright (J. D.), Nancy Alston and Mary Lee Wilson (Charlie).
He is survived by : his sons, Steven Alston (Alfreda), Harvey Alston (Shawndell) and Levi Alston (Shawntay); his grandchildren, Jonette Watson (Alec), Sheniece Gibbs (Julius), Steven Brown, Ebony Alston, Courtney Alston, Deangelo Brown, Donald Capers, Jr., Devonte Capers, Harvey D. Alston, Tory Collins, Tyrell Collins and Sariyanah Garrett; his siblings, Raymond Alston (late Nancy), Simon Alston, Edward Alston (Edna), Sabena Donaldson (late Steven), Marie Alston and Sheila Alston Mack (Minister Virgil); his brother-in-law Abraham Wright; and his son-in-law Donald Capers. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild.
