He is survived by: his parents, Robert Lawrence Ruppel and Eileen Marie Diggin Ruppel; his brother Larry Ruppel; his wife Lori; his sister Susan Reckitt (Stephen); his mother-in-law Margaret Keeffe Baker; his sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Baker (Joel Vande Vusse), Amy Baker (Lynn Mount) and Casey White Baker (Megan); and his nieces, Maggie Rose Ruppel, Olivia Vande Vusse, Eleanor Vande Vusse and Megan.
