He was predeceased by: his father Dr. Peter Michael Payne, Sr.; and his niece Catherine Wilson. He is survived by: his mother Sally Morrison Green; his wife Robin Rowley Payne; his children, Courtney Payne, Caroline Washburn (Zach), Carti Payne (Jeff Nuttall) and Peter Michael Payne, III; his grandson Harold "Payne" Washburn; his sisters, Brooks Payne Rode, Leigh Fordham (John), Laura Baughan (Stuart) and Dr. Margaret Siegel (Carter); his sister-in-law Caroline Matheny (Rob); and his nieces and nephews, Taylor Matheny, Matthew Matheny, Shannon Ogar, Sarah Wilson, Stephen Rode, Margaret Baughan, Haydn Baughan, George Baughan, Carter Siegel, Penn Siegel and Henry Siegel.
