He was predeceased by: his father Elvin "Bud" Long; his sister Gina Koon; and his nephew Joshua Koon. He is survived by: his mother Patricia Heidenescher (George) of Dayton, OH; his wife Cheryl Valentine of Mt. Pleasant, SC; his daughters, Carrie Chapman (Wayne) of Suffolk, VA, Chelsea Meyer of Mansfield, OH and Caitlin Long (Tirso Saavedra) of Kettering, OH; and his siblings, Vicki Holder (Jim) of Hickory, NC, David Long of Brunswick, OH, Lisa Fontechio of Dayton, OH and Jim Koon (Angie). He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
