He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Vereen and Dorothy Perkins Vereen; his grandson Michael David Causey; and his brother Carl Vereen. He is survived by: his wife Cheryl Vereen; his sons, Leo Horrom Vereen (Becky) of Myrtle Beach and Wendell Ray Vereen (Kelly) of Murrells Inlet; his grandchildren, Alexander Horrom Vereen (Makenzie), Nathaniel Hunter Vereen, Heather Vereen, Alexis Leonard (Stephen) and Breanna Brengelman (Aaron); his great grandchildren, Michael Brengelman, Abigail Brengelman and Isabella Leonard; his brothers, Joey Vereen (Linda) of Andrews, SC and Timmy Vereen (Tricia) of Andrews, SC; and his sister-in-law Linda Vereen.
