He was predeceased by: his parents, James Easterling McLaurin Sr. and Valerie Johnson McLaurin; his brother Michael Reid McLaurin; his sons, James Easterling McLaurin III (Melanie) and Matthew Scott McLaurin (Sarah); and his grandchildren, Evelyn Jean McLaurin, Remington James Anthony McLaurin and Eden Faith Price.
He is survived by: his wife Karen Adams McLaurin of Roanoke; his sister Donna McLaurin Dabbs (Dennis); and his cocker spaniel Missy.
