He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Henry Smithuysen and Violet Lily; and his brother W. Barry. He is survived by: his wife Sharon Salzberg Smithuysen; his daughter Meredith Smithuysen Altenburg (Timothy); his granddaughters, Violet and Lily; his son Elliot Goldbetter (Lisa); his grandson David; his great grandchild Jennifer Goldbetter (Marc); Daniel. He is also survived by extended family and many dear friends.
