He was predeceased by : his parents, Zannie D. Garner of Trinity and Nancy Elizabeth Thompson of Latta; his stepmother Eutha Garner of Denton; his grandson Joshua Tylor Peregory of San Antonio; and his brothers, John Duncan Garner of Latta and Zannie C Garner of Thomasville.
He is survived by : his wife Virgina Phillips Garner; his children, Preston Lee Garner and Tabitha Dawn Garner of San Antonio, Texas; his grandchildren, Austin Peregory (Sarah Peregory) of Ft. Bragg and Ti'Era Peregory of San Antonio; his great grandchildren, Lillieanne Peregory, Alivia Peregory, Brentley Peregory and Bri'Ella Peregory; and his sisters, Mabel Johnson, Ann Hale (Sammy Hale) of Denton and Otha Cook (James Cook) of Denton.
