He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank Wible McFarland and Helen Bernice McFarland (Beaumont); his wife Claudia Faith (Smith); and his children, Matthew Scot and Jill Ann.

He is survived by: his son Robert Jr. (Mary Lou); his daughter-in-law Angie; his grandchildren, Robert, III (Leah), Megan, Kerry and Christopher (Chelsea); and his great grandchildren, Sloane, Colton and Wyatt.
