He is survived by: his sons, Walter Harkins, Jr. of Queens, NY and Paul Harkins of Nassau County, NY; his grandsons, Christopher Harkins and Thomas Harkins of Queens, NY; and his brother Glenn Harkins of Horry County, SC..
A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 24th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Murrells Inlet VFW (4359 Hwy 17 Bypass N, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576).
