He is survived by: his wife Nancy Carlson; his children, Melanie Peterson (Daniel) and Arthur Carlson IV; his grandchildren, Andrew, Charlotte, Matthew Peterson, Lara and Mia Carlson; his brother James Carlson (Wendy) of Ottawa; and his nieces and nephews, David, Debbie (Anthony), Patti-Kim, Julie (Stephen), Jamie, Lauren (Brian), Michael Carlson (Kathryn), Michelle and Heather DeSantis (Doug).
