He is survived by: his wife Elaine Newton Horton; his children, Michael V. Horton (Elizabeth) of Mt. Pleasant and Dr. Katherine H. Haney (J. R.) of Myrtle Beach; his granddaughters, Caroline and Annabelle Horton; his brother Braddy M. Horton of Dillon; and his brother-in-law Wayne M. Newton (Jayne) of Atlanta.
