He was predeceased by: his parents, Ruthel Hartford Vereen and Laureta Jones Vereen; and his siblings, R. H. Vereen, Jr., Max Lee Vereen, Albertine Livingston, Doris McDaniel and Cathy Spivey.

He is survived by: his wife Linda Vereen; his children, Joey Vereen (Michelle), Andee DiCola (Jeff) and Mindy Jackson (James); his grandchildren, Nicholas DiCola, Avery Vereen, Matthew DiCola and Ava Jackson; Texter Vaught. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either in his name.
