He was predeceased by : his parents, Andrew Ellis and Helen Donohue Ellis. He is survived by : his wife Elizabeth N. Ellis of Myrtle Beach, SC; his children, Andrew Ellis (Heather) of Conway, SC and Elizabeth Thornal (Richard) of Conway, SC; his brother Terry Ellis (Eileen) of Tarentum, PA; and his grandchildren, Emily and Hunter Thornal.

The family has requested that memorial donations be made in Gerald's name to St. Michael Catholic Church.
