He was predeceased by: his parents, Allard Brockington Hucks and Maude L. Hucks; his wife Beatrice H. "Bee" Hucks; and his siblings, J. D. Hucks, Wendell Hucks and LaVal Larrimore.

He is survived by: his children, James B. Hucks, Jr. (Cathy) of Myrtle Beach, William A. "Billy" Hucks of Myrtle Beach and Marie H. Canady (Phil) of Myrtle Beach; and his brother A. B. Hucks of Marion. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren.
