With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Joseph Capps Sr. of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, born in Mullins, South Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on February 27, 2026 at the age of 87. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Though his name may fade from the lips of time, the imprint Joseph leaves upon the hearts of his loved ones remains eternally vivid — a testament to the depth of his spirit and the richness of his legacy.
He was predeceased by: his wife Patty Hart Capps of Myrtle Beach. He is survived by: his children, Dr. Hal Capps (Sherri Capps) of Myrtle Beach and Jill Morgan (Thad Morgan) of Lake Mary, FL; his grandchildren, J. Reed Truslow, Esquire of New York City, NY, Haley Kathryn Capps of Charlotte, NC and Emily H. Capps of Charleston, SC.; and his brother R. Clyde Capps, Jr. of Myrtle Beach. He is also survived by nieces and a nephew.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the McMillan-Small Funeral Home (910 67th Ave N, Myrtle Beach, SC 29572). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 7th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
