He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Fitzpatrick and Catherine Fitzpatrick; his siblings, Peter Fitzpatrick, Beatrice Fitzpatrick and Eileen Cronin; and his grandson Brendan Fitzpatrick.
He is survived by: his wife Erika Fitzpatrick; his children, Joseph Fitzpatrick, Walter Fitzpatrick, Mary Cox (David), Ann Valenti (Mark) and Maureen Fitzpatrick; and his stepchildren, Michael Ripley (Valerie), Sandra O'Toole (Timothy) and Susan Ripley-Young (Richard). He is also survived by his seventeen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
