He was predeceased by: his parents, Clair M. Straw and Verna V. Straw Batchelder (Millner); his sisters, Mary Etta Wallace, Lettie Jane Twoey and Phyllis Kay Cowder; his granddaughter Jessica Taylor Straw; and his wife Betty Sue (Walters).

He is survived by: his children, Kirk Straw (Georgia) of West Decatur, Craig Straw (Elizabeth Campbell) of Philadelphia and Crystal Frank (Kyle) of State College; his brother Richard Straw (Mitz) of Spirit Lake, Idaho; his grandchildren, Shayne Straw (Miranda), Austin Straw of West Decatur, Grace Straw and Tessa Straw of Philadelphia; and his great grandchildren, Adalynn, Freya and Beckham.
