With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Richard Ott in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, born in El Monte, California, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on January 26, 2026 at the age of 87. He was predeceased by: his parents, Marcellous Newton Ott and Lela Mae Richardson; and his sisters, Martha Ann Ott and Marsha Garren. He is survived by: his wife Doris J. Mueller of John's Lutheran Church; his children, Darryl Ott and Brenda Devaney (Todd); his granddaughter Christina Nelson (Rick); his great grandchildren, Theodore and Nora Nelson; his siblings, Joe Ott (Carol), Steve Ott (Karen), David Ott (Suk) and Margaret Kanel (Steve); and his brother-in-law Bruce Garren.
Memorial contributions in Rick's name may be directed to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital.
