We announce the death of Ruth Crown of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, who passed away on September 18, 2026, at the age of 89. Ruth will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ruth Elizabeth Taylor and Maurice Mortimer Hayes; her son Joe Crown; her sister Maureen Duffy; and her granddaughter Caryn Crown.
She is survived by: her children, John Crown (Lesa) of Loris, SC, Joan Broadwater (Mike) of Mount Airy, MD and Judy Main (Neil) of Johnstown, PA.; and her grandchildren, Jacquelyn Paulson, Katrina Beaumont, Eryn Weber, Michael Broadwater, Forrest Newman, Leo Newman and Neil Main Jr.. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 23rd 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Burroughs Funeral Home and Cremation Services (3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, September 24th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the St. Michael Catholic Church (542 Cypress Ave, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576).
