She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Pinion and Velma Eudy Pinion; and her siblings, Dorothy Mosier, Barbara Robbins (Larry), Linda Mason, Ralph Pinion and Robert Pinion.

She is survived by: her husband James Harold Melton, Sr.; her children, James Melton, Jr. (Betty), Donald Melton (Sue), Ralph Melton, Gary Gene Melton (Dawn), Betty Taylor (Dennis) and Cheryl Kestner; and her siblings, Jerry Pinion and Cora Kimbrell. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
