She was predeceased by: her parents, Turner M. Drewry, Jr. and Catherine Drewry; and her daughter Laura Hays. She is survived by: her husband Dr. David Hays; and her children, Daniel Hays of Chesapeake, Virginia and Jennifer G. Roberts of Hampton, Virginia..

In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
