She was loved and cherished by many people including: her husband Douglas Powers; her parents, Herbert I. Mess and Iona Ames Mess; her children, Lori Christensen (Charlie Sharpe), David Taillie (Carol) and Kathy Barkley; her stepsons, Bill Powers (Diane), Bob Powers (Darlene) and Rick Powers (Linda); her sister Mary Lu Divirgilio; her sister-in-law Jean Mess; and her pet Sadie.
