He was predeceased by: his parents, Harvey Leo Staves and Esther Mae Drew Staves; his wife Wilma Staves; and his sisters, Sally Staves and Phyllis Cleveland.
He is survived by: his children, Donna Graham (Terry) of St. Pauls, NC and Michael Staves of Gastonia, NC; his grandchildren, Jordan Armstrong (Kayla), Madison Staves, Travis McLean, Jessica McLean and Tivia Paul; and his sister-in-law Mary Lou Bunnells.
