He is survived by: his wife Val Benson; his children, Donna Benson Todd (Dewayne Todd), Billy Benson (Kristie Benson) and Roger Benson; and his grandchildren, Blaise Todd, Brian Benson, Ashley Benson, Rachael Benson, Caleb Benson, Dwayne Benson and Quinton Benson.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Burroughs Funeral Home & Cremation Services (3558 Old Kings Hwy, Murrells Inlet, SC 29576). A reception was held on Sunday, October 26th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Tunnel to Towers Foundation or Joint Task Force K9s of Myrtle Beach in William's memory.
