He was predeceased by : his parents, Vera Shaffer and William Richard Shaffer; his wife Carol; and his brother Ronald Shaffer (Germaine). He is survived by : his children, Elizabeth "Lisa" Flick (Robert) of Myrtle Beach, SC and William "Bill" Shaffer (Kristi) of Loveland, CO; and his stepdaughter Jaime Seidel (Guenther) of Chicago, IL..
