She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Lee Peterson and Suzie Marie Summerland Peterson; her husband Henry M. "Nick" Chaplin of Paul's United Methodist Church; her son Henry M. Chaplin, Jr.; and her siblings, Sue, Mary, Annett and Alton.
She is survived by: her sons, William P. Chaplin (Sandi) and John P. "Pete" Chaplin (Leslie); and her grandchildren, Megan Stambaugh (Matt), SSgt John Daniel Chaplin, Belle Eadon Chaplin, Kelly Maree Chaplin and Christopher James Chaplin. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Colonial Gardens Alzheimer's Care Center and to the incredible hospices nurses that took care of Mrs. Betty. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Neeses Methodist Church.
