She was predeceased by: her parents, Alliene Hipp Gibson and Brainard Wilson Gibson, Sr.; her husband William Thomas Lavender (Billy); and her siblings, Brainard Wilson Gibson, Jr. (Sonny) and Susan Gibson McElveen.
She is survived by: her children, W. T. "Tommy" Lavender, Jr. (Cindy) and Sally L. Newman (late Steve); her grandchildren, Will Lavender (Katie), Daniel Lavender (Laura), Kristin Hudson (Daniel), Anne Clark (David) and Kate Newman; and her great grandchildren, Ben, Blakely, Julia, Emma, Thomas and Aurora.
