He was predeceased by : his parents, Foster M. Counts, Sr. and Dorothy Sligh Counts; and also Foster M. Counts, Jr.. He is survived by : his siblings, Linda J. Counts (Kenneth Plummer), Dorothy L. Counts-Boone (Jesse) of Columbia, SC, Miriam L. Counts of Blythewood, SC, Ronald Counts (Cheryl) and Donald Counts (Sandra) of Newberry, SC.; his daughter Pam Shelton; his grandchildren, Erica Leaphart (Brian), India Mobley, Olivia O'Neal and Madison Singleton; and his close friend Ruth Chaplin. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 5th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home (64 Boundary St, Newberry, SC 29108). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 6th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
