He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Sims, Sr. and Viola Chick Sims; and his son Elliott Sims. He is survived by: his wife Mary; his children, Charles E. Sims, III of Newberry, SC, Alicia Renee Wallace (Bobby Joe) of Newberry, SC and Sylvia Hampton (George, III) of Philadelphia, PA; his grandchildren, Shavis Sims, Charlesa Sims, London Wicker and Jaquavis Fowler; his brothers, James Sims and Thorton Lee Sims; and his godsons, Dr. Robert Williams and Philip Hill of Atlanta, GA.. He is also survived by six aunts, one uncle, five sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
