She was predeceased by: her parents, Simpson Gary and Eula Glenn; her husband Carey Rivers; her siblings, Glenda Williams, Mae Gary and Willie James Gary; and her daughter Serena Rivers.
She is survived by: her daughters, Alishia Samuel (Jamie), Sandra Burton (Terrance DeWayne), Theresa Cromer (Michiel) and Suvena Rivers Kingwood (Anthony); and her siblings, Lillie Pearl Moody, Ray Gary (Janie), Melvin Gary (Denise), Freddie Gary and Robert Gary. She is also survived by seven grandchildren; five Great-grandchildren.
