It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Flanzie Rosetta Smith of Newberry, South Carolina, born in Lexington, South Carolina, who passed away on July 2, 2025, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Amos Meggett, Sr. and Ella Hook Meggett; her son Elvis L. Meggett; and her siblings, Alonzo Hook, Dorothy Mae Meggett, Annie Bell Goode, Mary Cheeks, Elizabeth Meggett and Maggie Mayers.
She is survived by: her husband Richard L. Smith; her daughter Jacqueline Greenwood (Derrill) of Newberry, SC; her siblings, Ellen Mayers (Randy), Evelyn Meggett, Amos Meggett, Jr. of Chapin, SC and Julius O. Meggett (Susan) of Chapin, SC; her stepdaughter Erykah Smith Crawford (Andre); her grandchildren, Shanikwha Wicker of Chapin, SC and Joshua Curry of Newberry, SC; her great grandchildren, Prince'Landen O'Neal Curry, Savon Tyrice Wicker and Tashun Maiir Curry; her cousin Martha Hill; and her friends, Louise Sulton and Ellen Bowers. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins.
