She was predeceased by : her parents, Daniel P. Lathrop and Bessie Crouch Lathrop; her husband Harold R Coats; her sisters, Faye White Heath and Nora Laverne Hawkins; her nephew Wade Hawkins; and her son-in-law James David Shealy.
She is survived by : her cousins, Gloria C Franklin, Melba C Arthur and Sherill E Hendrix.
