He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Schumpert, Sr. and Janie Mae Pratt Schumpert. He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Caldwell Schumpert; his children, Shirley Brooks (Vincent), James P. Schumpert, Jr., Odell Schumpert (Mahalia) and Kevin Schumpert (Idella); and his sisters, Eddie S. Caldwell and Frances Clarice Wright. He is also survived by eleven grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, three sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
