He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lillie Mae Harp Sheppard and Willie Frank Sheppard; his wife Doris Ann Dewalt Sheppard; his children, Andrea Byrd (Michael), Trista Sheppard of Newberry, SC, Paul Sheppard (Ebonie) of Irmo, SC and James Sheppard (Faith) of Newberry, SC; and his siblings, Bettye Nance, Patricia Sheppard-Trapp, Doris Paisley, Dale Sheppard and Carl Sheppard. He was also cherished by eleven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, June 6th 2025 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the F. B. Pratt & Son Funeral Home (601 South St, Newberry, SC 29108). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity AME Church (1338 Green Tree Rd, Newberry, SC 29145).
