He was predeceased by: his parents, Annie Mae Sligh Rankin and Henry S. Rankin; and his siblings, Dorothy Rankin, Peggy Garrett, Bobby Rankin and Boyd Rankin.
He is survived by: his wife Evelyene L. Rankin; his children, Vicky Lindler (Edgar Jr.) and Keith Henry Rankin (Kayla); his grandchildren, Corey Ethan Lindler, Emersyn Grace Lindler, Kaitlyn Noelle Rankin, Lillie Mae Rankin and Gabriel John Rankin; and his sister Annie Livingston (David).
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Evans Funeral Home (1724 Main St, Newberry, SC 29108). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 6th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Chapel (1724 Main St, Newberry, SC 29108).
Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to the Cannon's Creek-Prosperity A.R.P. Church Cemetery Fund, 14395 C.R. Koon Highway, Newberry, SC 29108.
