He was predeceased by: his parents, William Pinkney and Maggie Boozer Lathrop; his brothers, William Lathrop, Aiken Lathrop, Ray Lathrop and Grady Lathrop; and his son Chuck Lathrop.

He is survived by: his daughters, Donna Richardson of Newberry, Alice Lathrop of Lexington and Vicki Hamm (Jack) of Newberry; his grandchildren, Bethany Fulmer (Mitch), Blake Hamm (Aubrey), Kendall Trotter (Phillip) and C. J. Lathrop; and his great grandchildren, Andrew Fulmer (E. K.), Landon Hamm, Weston Hamm, Bowen Hamm, Adleigh Hamm, Brooks Hamm and Nancy Faye Trotter.
