He was predeceased by: his parents, James Paul Blanton and Elizabeth Reynolds Blanton; his wife Tallulah Elizabeth "Betty" Blanton; his brother Lloyd H. Blanton; and his sisters-in-law, Nancy Blanton and Melba Blanton.
He is survived by: his children, James Darren Blanton (Connie) and Tonya Elizabeth Rainbolt; his grandchildren, Sophia Blanton, Kelee Rainbolt and Lily Cilenti; and his brother Frankie C. Blanton. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews.
A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Mt. Olive Baptist Church (1950 Mt Olive Church Rd, Nichols, SC 29581). Visitation was held on Sunday, September 21st 2025 at 3:00 PM at the same location.
