It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Buck Brown Sr. of Ninety Six, South Carolina, born in Monroe, Louisiana, who passed away on January 14, 2024, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Oscar Wharton Brown, Sr. and Roberta Brown; his brother Oscar Wharton Brown, Jr. (Elise Brown); his in-laws, Neil and Juanita "Pete" Hays; his brother-in-law Lynn Hays; his son-in-law Barry Lucas; and his wife Neila.
He is survived by : his children, Buck Brown, Jr. (Menka), Carrie Lucas and Lou Brown (Kim); and his grandchildren, Austin, Drew (Ashley), Dara, Buck, III (Rachel), Powers, Trek and Erica. He is also survived by three brothers-in-law and several nieces and nephews.
During that time, he also served as the Instrumentation and Laboratory Improvement (ILI) program director at the National Science Foundation and was an expert witness on many court cases involving electrical engineering issues.
