He was predeceased by: his father John Smith, Jr. (Smith). He is survived by: his wife Avia Smith; his mother Lena Mae Riley; his children, Dondre Ramone Smith, Avona J. McHoney, Xavier McGinnis and Casedra McGinnis; his grandchildren, Ace Robinson and Kerrigan Little; his siblings, Ronald V. Smith, Anthony Smith (Sharon), Leonard Smith and Tracey Smith Bailey (Darrell, Sr.); and his siblings-in-law, Dana Richardson (Curtis), Renee Price, Samuel Price, Jr. (Sharon) and Deslin Price (Marilyn). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, co-workers and friends.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 19th 2026 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Smith-McNeal Funeral Home (2119 Dorchester Rd, North Charleston, SC 29405). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, September 20th 2026 at 1:00 PM at the Burke High School (244 President St, Charleston, SC 29403).
