She was predeceased by: her parents, Helen A. Smith and Johnnie M. Smith Sr.; her husband James P. Brogdon Jr.; her siblings, Gracie McCall and Johnnie M. Smith Jr.; and her daughter-in-law Sheila Y. Brogdon.
She is survived by: her sons, James E. Brogdon Sr. (Eloise), Jerry M. Brogdon and Gary Brogdon (Fran); her brother Hovey Smith; and her grandchildren, Bruce Thompson (Shannon), James E. Brogdon Jr. (Kristen), Nick Thompson, Shanna M. Brogdon, Roy R. House, Heather Wilkinson, Jerry M. Brogdon II, Jesse P. Brogdon, Chasen H. Brogdon (Brianna) and Jessie W. Brogdon (Kristel). She is also survived by her nineteen great-grandchildren; ten great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
