It is with sadness that the passing of Matthew Stephen Chrien of North Charleston, South Carolina is shared. Matthew, born on April 7, 1972, passed away on September 2, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
Matthew will be remembered for the time spent with loved ones and the moments that brought joy to those around him. Friends and family will honor Matthew by reflecting on shared memories and the positive influence he had in their lives. Though Matthew is no longer present, the bonds he created and the experiences shared will endure. Matthew’s memory will continue to be a source of comfort for all who knew him.
He was predeceased by: his mother Nancy Chrien. He is survived by: his father Gary Chrien; his wife Colleen Chrien; his children, Andrew, Tyler, Laura and Mattie Chrien; his siblings, Ted Chrien (Colleen) and Andrea Cotham; and his friend CrossFit. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, November 1st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Porter Room at Holy City Brewing (1021 Aragon Ave, North Charleston, SC 29405).
