He was predeceased by: his wife Lorraine Castengera Mitchum; his brother Richard; and his parents, Mary Frances Cusack and Thomas Beeler Mitchum. He is survived by: his daughters, Nina Chitty (Roger) and Shannon Noble (Marc); his stepdaughter Lisa DuBose; his grandchildren, Hannah Chitty, Luke Noble, Bella Chitty, Martha Noble, Austin Duncan and Amanda Buzar (Justin); his sisters, Mary Susan Brutsch and Victoria Spayde; his great grandchild Sydney Buzar; and his pet Louie.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the Charleston Animal Society.
