She was predeceased by: her parents, Marion Leon Galloway and Ruth Heath Galloway; her brother Robert Leon Galloway; her great grandchild Cooper Michael Smith of Durham, NC; and her close friend Mettie Monroe of Ash, NC..
She is survived by: her husband Daniel R. Smith; her children, Dawn, Lynne (Steve Bruder) and Daniel R. Smith II; her grandchildren, Valerie (Ryan) of Atlanta, GA, Tristan, Daniel (Nicky) of Durham, NC, Kyle (Hunter), Drew (McKenzie), Chance (Olivia), Zane and Stephanie Diehl; her sister Marion Snipes (Conway) of Fort Worth, TX; and her sister-in-law Gayle Smith.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Samaritans Purse or First Baptist Church of North Myrtle Beach in honor of Ruth's memory.
