It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Betty Mount of Orangeburg, South Carolina, born in Elloree, South Carolina, who passed away on June 2, 2022, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, David Lee Bookhardt and Hazel Stroman Spires; her stepfather Athell Spires; her daughter Miriam Dawn Mount; and her brother David Bookhardt.

She is survived by: her husband Bobby Mount; her children, Melanie Robin Mount and Donnie Melton Mount (Susan Woodward); her grandchildren, Kaylee Dawn Edwards McDaniel (Eric), Ralph Austin Edwards, Dylan Chandler Edwards, Seth Hayden Mount, Chesnee Addison Mount, Ryder Payne Mount, Macon Ingram, Jordan Woodward and Isabelle Woodward; her great grandchildren, Rylie Elise McDaniel and Cameron Sophia McDaniel; her brother Richard Athell Spires; and her sister-in-law Maria Bookhardt. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
