With sadness, we share the passing of Jo Ann Dukes (Orangeburg, South Carolina). Jo Ann, born on January 13, 1943, passed away on October 6, 2026. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Jo Ann Dukes to pay them a last tribute.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Furtick and Ethel Hooker Furtick; and her sister Sarah Jones. She is survived by: her husband Earl Dukes, Jr.; her children, Earl A. Dukes, III (Teresa) of Newport, N. C., Michael J. Dukes of Orangeburg, Kevin C. Dukes (Stephanie) of Orangeburg and Sharon R. Linnell of Spartanburg; and her sisters, Frances Pace of Laurens, Peggy Weatherford of Santee and Emily Outlaw of Lexington. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. (1012 Whitman St SE, Orangeburg, SC 29115). A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at 3:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Friday, October 9th 2026 at the Memorial Park Cemetery (2720 Broughton St, Orangeburg, SC 29115).
