He is survived by: his son John Robert Mann, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Houston; his granddaughters, Julie Elizabeth Mann of Lake Tahoe, California, Mary Evans Mann and Eloise Mann of Houston; his sisters, Dr. Holly Latty-Mann of Lexington and Carol Hoffman of Charleston; and his caregiver Veronico "Ronnie" Williams of Erwin.
