He was predeceased by: his adoptive parents, Edmund F. Oeffinger and Muriel Brook Bland; and his wife Alice Hadwin. He is survived by: his children, Angela Kilgus, Victoria Barrineau (Devonne), Alice Oeffinger and Stephen B. Oeffinger, Jr.; his sister Judy Heggie (Alex); his son-in-law Christian K. Gallman; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Butler (Brett), Amanda "Paige" Kilgus, Ashley Hawkins (Wade), Kenneth F. Kilgus, Jr. (Taylor), Kyle Gallman (Jordan), William Barrineau (Kaitlyn), Gray Barrineau and Cam Barrineau; and his siblings, Paige and Robert Oeffinger. He is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Dukes-Harley Funeral Home and Crematory (3379 Columbia Rd NE, Orangeburg, SC 29118). A funeral service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A graveside service was held on Sunday, September 13th 2026 at the Memorial Park Cemetery (2720 Broughton St, Orangeburg, SC 29118).
