She was predeceased by : her spouse Mauriece Barton, Jr.; her parents, Charles R. Smith and Edna Smith (Way); and her brothers, Hasty Smith and Gene Smith.

She is survived by : her children, Richard Alan Barton (Holly) of Denmark, SC and Jennifer Ballew (Carroll) of Orangeburg, SC; her siblings, Ray Smith of Grays, SC, Michael Smith of Grays, SC and Brenda Barton (David); her grandchildren, Allen Barton, Randall Barton of Kayte Barton, J. D, Alex Ballew and Amanda Auerswald (Rob); and her great grandchildren, Harper, Brice, Allen, Thomas, Weslie, Shayla and Ruby Anna.

Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Cossawhatchie Baptist Church. A funeral service was held on Wednesday, April 10th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the same location.
