He was predeceased by: his mother Frances Fogle Tyler; his wife Joyce Culler Tyler; his son Jeff; his great grandchild Shep Tyler; his daughter-in-law Donna Laird; his grandson-in-law Eric Nettles; and his sisters, Cynthia Smoak and Mary Jameson.
He is survived by: his father William Salley Tyler; and his children, Steve Tyler (Dina), Kathy Utsey (Bill), Phil Tyler (Michelle) and Carol Griffin (John). He is also survived by 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
